The Law Library offers a special Interlibrary Loan Retrieval Service program to San Francisco firms, from solos to large firms, which provides extended reference and circulation services. This is a sliding fee based program starting at no charge for firms with 9 or less attorneys.
Services include:
Messenger Privileges:
Members may call or email materials requests, which Library staff will prepare for messenger pickup.
Online catalog:
Members may check their accounts, renew materials online and opt to maintain a permanent record of all items borrowed.
HeinOnline documents:
Librarians will email documents in PDF format at members’ request from the Library’s HeinOnline database. Or they can be printed for fax delivery or messenger pickup.
CEB OnLAW searches:
Members may request a subject search of the CEB OnLaw database to determine which CEB texts or action guides are most useful for their needs.
Fax/scan services:
Non-circulating items will be faxed to members at no charge.
Extended Reference support:
Reference librarians will provide assistance regarding challenging research issues.
Interlibrary Loans:
Request interlibrary loans from other libraries, such as the California State Library, for a small administrative fee plus shipping.
Satellite privileges:
San Francisco firm members with a satellite office in the larger Bay Area may enroll that location as a separate ILL member, with full Interlibrary Loan Retrieval Program privileges.
